Vehicle-to-vehicle communication channel measurements on a vertical curve road

چکیده
Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication channel measurements were carried out in different environments such as urban, suburban, rural, highway, tunnel, and overpass. The roads these have generally flat terrain. However, there are horizontal or vertical curve that been little focused the literature. In this study, we performed two V2V on a vertical-curve road rural environment to show how received signal strength changes with distance between transmitter receiver. path loss exponent of log-distance model was calculated by using least-square method. According results, exponents estimated 7.53 7.61 78% 83% fitting performances for measurements. literature, however, propagation obtained up 6.13, especially straight road. Thus, our findings cause 15-20 dB more attenuation than roads. As result, should be investigated included existing wireless simulators better real authors contend study will aid improving modeling communication.

We propose a hybrid ITS safety architecture that combines vehicle-to-vehicle communication and vehicle-to-roadside sensor communication. Opposed to dedicated roadside units, which require major investments for purchase, installation and maintenance, roadside wireless sensor and networking technology represents a cost-effective solution and can leverage the deployment of the system as a whole. A...
متن کاملVehicle-Based Road Dust Emissions Measurements
TRAKER is a vehicle-based method for measuring road dust emissions. Particulate matter is sampled in front and behind a vehicles tire and the difference in PM concentration (TRAKER signal) is used to infer the airborne flux of particles from the roadway. Two independent tests indicated that the TRAKER signal increases as the cube of the speed for a given road dust loading. Simultaneous measure...
